Self-Directed Learning
Students at TSHS use the Self-Directed Learning Cycle to set goals, develop a plan to achieve those goals, learn what you need to know, show evidence of what you have learned, and reflect on the process.
Self-Direction is one of the the Habits of Success. The Habit of Success “Self-Direction” describes the skills and mindsets students need in order to successfully execute the Self-Direction Cycle.
Students spend the majority of the school day with their subject area teachers completing Projects and Math Units. However, students spend one period a day in Free Climb. During this time, students work on Content Knowledge through units of content called Focus Areas, and are provided support from content area teachers.
