Welcome to Three Springs High School!

TSHS is a choice high school in the Cheney School District. Students, teachers, and families CHOOSE to be a part of our school community. By choosing TSHS, we commit to honoring the strengths of each student while also committing to growing together.

When our students choose TSHS, they are empowered to explore alternative learning options and an environment where they find belonging. We are committed to building strong relationships with all students through mentoring, small classes, and mutual respect. Students' voice in decisions related to learning and belonging at TSHS is valued. Our goal is that when you leave TSHS that you will leave with the critical skills necessary to achieve your post-high school dreams.

Our staff has chosen TSHS because they are committed to ensuring that every student at TSHS has an option that best meets their needs. They are committed to providing a safe, inclusive, unique, project-based, community-minded, and collaborative school. Our teachers meet students where they are, respect the unique experiences of every student, and believe that ALL students will achieve their goals.

Families choose TSHS because they want their children to be known and cared for when at school. Our relationships with students and families create a solid collaborative environment where students succeed. Families appreciate the hands-on, unique, and deeper learning options for students at TSHS.

TSHS is special. There is no school quite like ours. If you are interested in learning more, please join us at an open house, request more information, or fill out an enrollment application.

We look forward to welcoming you to TSHS.

"WE CHOOSE TSHS!"

Three Springs High School is an innovative school for ninth-twelfth grade students. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and rigorous learning environment for ALL students by developing successful habits to become positively contributing members of society. TSHS is a Summit Learning school. Summit Learning is a research-based approach to education designed to drive student engagement, meaningful learning, and strong student-teacher relationships that prepare students for life beyond the classroom. We offer a personalized approach to teaching and learning.

We operate under the authority of the State of Washington and the laws pursuant to an alternative learning experience (WAC 392-121-182). Three Springs High School was founded on the principle that not all students thrive in a large, comprehensive high school environment.

Three Springs High School:

  • Strong relationships: with less than 120 students, students will have the same teachers for several subjects over time. This promotes a strong community where students know teachers and teachers know students. We are committed to knowing our students and supporting their needs.
  • Interdisciplinary Learning Model: Interdisciplinary learning helps students learn creatively and apply knowledge across disciplines.  Compared to traditional approaches, an interdisciplinary approach expands what students learn by encouraging them to consider problems that don’t fit into one subject. Students learn differently. They are asked to synthesize multiple perspectives and explain their thinking rather than memorizing content and telling what they were told.
  • Crew: Crew is both a structure and a culture at TSHS. Every student is assigned to a Crew, a team of students led by their mentor teacher daily. Crew builds an authentic community at school so all students thrive socially, emotionally, and academically and can make meaningful contributions to a better world. All students Crew Leader/Mentor teacher is their coach and advocate, supporting them as they develop strong character, life, and academic skills.
  • Longer, intensely focused classes; students take three classes per day, which allows students more time with teachers, time to work on projects in class, and a deeper understanding of the material. TSHS students are encouraged by teachers to approach assignments and projects creatively, focusing on individual students' learning styles. Students complete all requirements for graduation.
  • Anchor Time: each student participates in Anchor Time on Mondays and Wednesdays. This class allows students to plan and prioritize their learning based on their individual goals. Students receive support and intervention from their teachers, mentor, and peers.
Three Springs High School provides a safe, supportive, and rigorous learning environment for ALL students through the development of successful habits in order to become positively contributing members of society.
